2022 Audi Q7 vs 2021 Audi Q7

Serving Farmington Hills, MI

The Q7 is an impressive midsize SUV in Audi’s lineup. It boasts three rows of seats, an engaging style, and excellent capabilities. Our customers at Audi Farmington Hills often ask us about the critical differences between the 2021 and 2022 Audi Q7. The Q7’s second generation debuted in 2017, and both model years are part of that generation. However, Audi has made several updates to the Q7 for 2022. What should you be aware of before picking your new Q7 from our inventory?

If you opt for the 2022 Audi Q7, you can enjoy two new features not offered for the 2021 model year. These adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist are exclusively available in the Premium Plus trim level. The Q7’s capabilities, however, hold steady across both model years. Two powertrains are offered. The entry-level engine is a 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder system that gives you 248 horsepower. The more advanced engine is a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine with 335 horsepower. These are both tied to an eight-speed auto transmission.

The 2022 Audi Q7 is now available with a Black Optic package in the 45 TFSI trim level. This package adds larger and black-painted wheels, matrix LED headlights, and a towing package. For both 2021 and 2022, this package is available in the 55 TFSI trim. The exterior design of the Audi Q7 will be unchanged between 2021 and 2022. The hexagonal grille on the nose has vertical chrome bars, perfectly complemented by trapezoid-like headlights that lay horizontally. The hood and sides are beautifully sophisticated with fine touches of definition.

For 2022, the Q7 adds rear-side airbags to elevate your safety on the road. It also now comes with heated and power-folding side mirrors. All other features across the trim levels hold steady. Some of these features are ambient interior lighting, leather upholstery, a head-up display, smart device integration, soft-close doors, massaging and heated front seats, four-zone auto climate control, heated seats for the second row, rear sunshades, and many other preferred features.
